How to Save All Your BeReal Memories (Free, Step by Step)

Updated · Last tested: not yet

Short answer

BeReal has no "download all" button. Its help center says Memories can only be saved one at a time. To get all of them, request a copy of your data from BeReal in the app. BeReal sends a ZIP, often within hours and sometimes a day or two later. Inside are raw .webp photos and a posts.json file, so you'll need a tool to put the dates and front/back pairs back together. Free options exist, including on-device ones.

Can you download all your BeReal memories at once?

No, not from inside the app. BeReal's own help center says Memories can only be downloaded one at a time (source). If you only need a few, save them one by one:

  1. Open your Profile and tap View all my Memories.
  2. Pick a day.
  3. Tap ⋯ and save it to Photos.

For everything, you need a copy of your data. It's free to ask for.

Step 1: Request a copy of your BeReal data

From inside the BeReal app, contact support and ask for a copy of your personal data, including all your posts and photos. Requesting it is free.

Verify on a fresh export. The taps below come from public sources that disagree with each other. They will be replaced with tested steps and October 2026 screenshots before this page publishes.
  1. Open BeReal and go to your Profile.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Tap Help, then Contact us.
Some versions route through About → Help → Ask a Question → Troubleshooting → Other.
  4. Ask for a copy of your data, or write: "Hi, I'd like to request a copy of my personal data, including all my posts and photos. Thank you."
  5. Send it. BeReal replies in the app.
Where the reply appears is unconfirmed.

Data access rights are strongest under the EU's GDPR. People outside the EU report getting exports too.

Needs a non-EU account to confirm, or the sentence above comes out.

Step 2: Download the ZIP

When the export is ready, BeReal sends a download link. The file you want contains your photos and is usually named BeReal Profile Activity&Data.zip. Download it soon and keep it.

  • The one you want contains your photos. It's usually named BeReal Profile Activity&Data.zip.
  • Download it soon.
Does the link expire, and after how long?
  • Make room first. Years of BeReals can take several gigabytes.

If you plan to delete your BeReal account, download and keep the ZIP before you delete.

What's inside your BeReal export

BeReal Profile Activity&Data.zip
├── Photos/ one .webp file per camera, random names
├── posts.json dates, captions, and which photos belong together
└── … other account files

The photos are there, but the filenames don't tell you the date or which front photo goes with which back photo. That information lives in posts.json. Open the Photos folder on its own and you get a pile of unlabeled images. That's why a tool helps.

Whether RealMojis, captions, location and deleted posts are included is unconfirmed.

Step 3: Turn the export into photos you can keep

Open the ZIP in a tool that reads posts.json. Faciem imports it on your iPhone from Settings, Data, Import from BeReal, and every day lands on its date with the front and back photo paired.

There are a few ways to do this. A free open-source tool reads the ZIP in your browser. Paid converters exist, and they work by uploading your archive to their own service, which is worth weighing. Faciem does it on your phone, for nothing.

Faciem: free, on-device

Open the ZIP in Faciem: Settings → Data → Import from BeReal. Faciem reads posts.json, matches every front and back photo, and adds each day to a private timeline. Retakes come across too. Nothing is uploaded. In a test with a real 1,408-post export, 1,407 posts came in; the one that didn't was missing from BeReal's own archive, and the app said so by date. You can stop partway and run the same file again to finish.

Do it yourself

If you're comfortable with code, posts.json maps each post to its two photos and a timestamp. A short script can rename and date the files.

Keep the daily habit, privately

If you liked the daily prompt but not the audience, Faciem, a private photo-a-day app, picks up where BeReal left off: one random reminder a day, front and rear camera, no friends list, no feed. Your imported BeReal days sit in the same timeline. See how BeReal import works and what Faciem stores, and where.
