Privacy Policy

Faciem is built on one rule: your data only goes where you send it.

Four things follow from that, today and in every release after:

• Everything that touches your data is optional. Faciem needs the camera, because a photo app without one is nothing. Location, notifications, and saving to your Photos library are each off until you turn them on, and your daily capture, your timeline, and a full export of everything all still work with all three declined. That is the baseline Faciem was built around, not a reduced version of it.
• Your archive lives on your device. Photos, times, notes, and location sit in the app's own storage, and that is where they stay.
• Nothing leaves unless you send it. Sharing a photo, or opening a capture's location in Apple Maps, is something you do in the moment, each time. The app never does it on your behalf.
• Anything that would change this ships off by default. Cloud backup, friend sharing, anything else: off until you turn it on, explained before you do, reversible after.

We will never collect or transmit your data as a background behavior. When something changes, it changes here first, and you will always know what you agreed to.

What Data We Collect

Currently: none. We do not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking, and there is no server of ours for your data to sit on. Faciem makes no network requests of its own at all. The only time anything of yours travels anywhere is when you send it: a photo you share, or a location you tap to open in Apple Maps.

If optional features that involve data collection are added in the future, they will be clearly labeled, require explicit opt-in, and be covered by an updated version of this policy.

Photos & Data Storage

All photos captured with Faciem are stored exclusively on your device. Photos are not uploaded to any server, cloud service, or third-party platform unless you explicitly choose to enable a future optional cloud feature.

If you choose to enable the "Save to Photos" option, copies of your captures will also be saved to your device's iOS Photos library. This is a local operation. No data is transmitted externally.

Location Data

If you grant location permission, Faciem stores your approximate location with each capture, on your device only. Faciem never transmits it. If you tap a capture's location, Faciem opens Apple Maps and hands it that one coordinate. That is the only way your location ever leaves this device, it happens only when you tap, and what Apple Maps does next is covered by Apple's privacy policy rather than this one. You can turn location off at any time in the app's settings, and Faciem works fully without it.

Data Export

Faciem provides a full data export feature. When you export, a ZIP file containing your photos and metadata is created locally on your device. What you do with that export is entirely up to you. We have no involvement or access.

Third-Party Services

Faciem currently uses no third-party services. No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising SDKs, no social integrations. Nothing in the app reports back to us, or to anyone else.

Children's Privacy

Faciem currently collects no data from any user and has no account system, so there are no special provisions needed for children's privacy at this time. If account-based features are added in the future, age requirements and parental consent provisions will be addressed accordingly.

Changes to This Policy

If we change this privacy policy, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Any change that involves collecting new categories of data will require fresh consent. We will not treat acceptance of a prior policy as consent to new data practices.
